Wasmer, Schroeder & Company Inc.

About Us

Wasmer, Schroeder & Company, Inc. specializes in structuring and managing taxable and tax exempt bond portfolios that are tailored to clients' preferences and constraints.  With a standard direct client minimum account size of $1,000,000, our clients include foundations and endowments, pension plans, family offices and high net worth individuals.  The Firm seeks to match or exceed its benchmarks and peers with less volatility and risk by focusing on capital preservation, the maintenance of purchasing power, and the maximization of income over a long-term investment horizon.  The Firm adheres to a discipline whereby our investment process, in aggregate, results in consistent performance over multi-year periods.  Since our results are comprised of a number of components, an adverse change in one of these components would not necessarily result in relative under-performance.

The Firm's investment process includes the following components:

  • Efficient execution when purchasing and selling securities
  • In depth credit research with a focus on underlying credit
  • Tax efficient use of municipal bonds
  • Yield curve positioning
  • Portfolio structuring and the diversification of risk
  • Opportunistic bond swaps
  • Strategic use of various bond structures

    • Callable and non-callable securities
    • Varied revenue sources
    • Different coupon structures

These components are carefully selected to target systemic, long-term inefficiencies in the fixed income markets.  Active management allows us to capitalize on these inefficiencies in a scalable manner, structuring portfolios to produce attractive risk adjusted returns against their benchmark over time.
